Artist Bio
Rebecca King was born in Asheville, North Carolina in 1980. She
received her bachelor of arts from Montreal College in 2001, where she
began her apprenticeship with Benjamin Long. In 2006, King worked as a
member of Long's fresco crew at E.H. Sloop Chapel at Crossnore School.
King regularly travels to France and Italy to study and paint, and
presently works in her studio in downtown Asheville. In addition to
working on site and in the studio, King teaches students at the Fine
Arts League of the Carolinas in Asheville.
Of King's work, Master Artist and Fresco Painter Benjamin Long said, "Rebecca's fine talent has light, and truly felt electricity..." King's oil paintings capture the emotive quality of her subjects, sometimes peaceful, sometimes dynamic, with fluid brushwork and a sensitivity to color relationships.
